Backup


1. Open Platts on the Net (POTN)

2. Enter your log-in credentials and click OK. Allow the system a few minutes to connect.

  • User Name (usually begins with PL_)
  • Domain: (May be one of the following: PLATTSASIA, PLATTSEMEA, PLATTSNAMER, PLATTSSAMER, PLATTSTRIAL, PLATTSINTER)
  • Password:
  • Locale: (usually Platts Full Text)

3. Once connection is established, two (2) green lights should appear on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

4. Click Page from the Menu Bar at the top, then select Backup > Backup to Disk.

5. Select where to store the backup file by clicking Browse and choose the preferred location. However, it is recommended to use C:\Platts\Backup folder.

6. Click Backup Now! to proceed.



Restore


1. Open Platts on the Net (POTN)

2. Enter your log-in credentials and click OK. Allow the system a few minutes to connect.


3. Once connection is established, two (2) green lights should appear on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

4. Click Page from the Menu Bar at the top, then select Restore > Restore From Disk.

5. When prompted to shut down RealTick to proceed, click Yes. The Restore RealTick Data page will pop-up.

6. Click Browse and locate the backup file to be loaded.

7. Click Restore.
